| Frequently Asked Questions
Is permanent makeup safe?
The micro pigmentation technique is medically proven and specifically
designed to be completely safe. Stephanie is a board-certified
Intradermal Cosmetic Technician who is dedicated to the highest
standards of patient welfare, implement sterilization and procedure
excellence.
Does the procedure hurt?
No. A topical anesthetic is applied to the area prior to the
procedure, in order to numb the skin. That said, some areas of
the face are more sensitive than others -- and lips tend to be
the most delicate.
What are the side effects and "down-time" ?
For the permanent eyebrow procedure you can leave the spa and
return to your normal activities immediately. Your brows will
appear "shiny" for the first few days, as you need to
apply the supplied after-care ointment on a regular basis. After
several days, the upper dermal layer of the skin begins to heal
and a light flaking of the skin occurs. Hard copy instructions
are provided to you by Stephanie to take home with you.
For eyeliner and lip liner procedures, it is a good idea to
take the following day off work, as some swelling does occur during
the first 24-48 hours. To counteract this side effect, it is recommended
that you ice the area on and off during that time frame. After
several days, the upper dermal layer of the skin begins to heal
and a light flaking of the skin occurs. Hard copy instructions
are provided to you by Stephanie to take home with you.
How long can I expect the permanent makeup to last?
Unlike conventional body tattooing, micro pigmentation uses natural
pigments that do not last forever. This is a good thing, since
as we age, our face shape and skin elasticity changes. In general,
most permanent makeup lasts several years, but prolonged exposure
to sun and other elements can lessen its longevity. When that
time comes, re-touching is required.
